I started Rosie’s Rainbow Circus at the beginning of March 2024, and even in the short amount of time I have been attending it has made such a big impact on my Physical and Mental health. I'm a 14 year old, transgender boy with autism who is now currently homeschooled. I’ve always struggled with socialising, and getting myself out of the house. Ever since I’ve started Rosie has been nothing but welcoming, kind and supportive. She makes me feel safe and heard. I’ve been to Circus groups in the past that have made me feel unsafe and judged all just because of the way I look and identify. It’s really hard to find a place like Rosie’s where you feel cared for and supported no matter who you are. She’s helped me to Socialise and feel comfortable in my own body. Rosie and Toby are also very accommodating to people with extra physical/mental needs.

Morwenna worked with Tavistock BID on the inaugural Zombie Crawl in Tavistock Town Centre. As this was an event that had never been run before, we asked Morwenna to bring her creativity and event management skills to the project to ensure that it ran smoothly regardless of the number of attendees. Morwenna managed a series of circus skill workshops throughout the day, which saw over 400 children in attendance. We were impressed by the attention to detail given to every element of the workshops and the way she managed the number of children. The Zombie Crawl was choreographed beautifully and went off without a hitch thanks to Morwenna and her team. As a community event, we were extremely pleased to see that Morwenna is especially committed to working with teenagers from the town, giving them fantastic opportunities to train and work with her. The feedback from visitors on the day was glowing and we are thrilled that Rosie Rainbow Circus has become an integral part of the events scene in Tavistock.
We joined Rosie's Rainbow Circus group at the beginning of March 2024, and even in the short period we have been attending it has had such a positive impact on our lives. I bring the two children I PA for along to the circus group, every Tuesday for 2 hours. Both of the children are homeschooled and have neurodivergent profiles. We often struggle to find activities that are enjoyable, benefit development, build skills and accommodate individual needs. Rosie's Rainbow Circus ticks all of the boxes.
We absolutely love this group and all that it offers us. The kids have lots of fun whenever we go, they are learning new skills, developing strength, participating in physical and mental exercise, overcoming fears, and building confidence. Rosie and Toby are incredibly welcoming and accommodating. They are brilliant for understanding the individual needs and personalities of the children, and will find ways to adapt exercises to meet the children's capabilities. One of the children I bring has cerebral palsy and limited mobility. Rosie and Toby always make sure he feels included and has the same access to activities as the rest of us.
Rosie is great for filling the children with self- belief and confidence, and for cheering them along. She has a really beautiful attitude towards body-positivity, no judgement and accepting everyone for who they are. There is such a positive and supportive atmosphere at this circus group, which is unmatched to anything else on offer locally.
Going to this group every week has given us something to look forward to. It feels like a little community and is full of support. It provides the children with a perfect opportunity for socialisation, whilst having fun, developing skills and learning. It is tailored to our needs and interests, and we work at a pace that suits our energy levels.

Rosie came into Access Theatre on two occasions to share circus skills with the group. The first session she came to introduce herself and introduce some circus skills/exercises and equipment as well as gauge interest from the group and learn about their access needs. We were so pleased Rosie was keen to do a short introductory session with the group first as crucial parts of our company ethos are that the company members are part of the decision making process and that access and inclusivity are at the core of the activities we do. After the introductory session the group unanimously voted for Rosie to return for a full session! The full session was filled with joy, laughter, and challenges for the group. Rosie taught each skill with clarity and gave it the time it needed for all the members of the group to test it out and challenge themselves with different levels of difficulty. She also provided guidance and alternative options when members were struggling or were uncomfortable or not interested in that particular exercise- which is crucial to creating a safe and inclusive space. It was clear she had selected circus skills that would be both accessible and challenging but still fun for the company members based on the needs we had discussed and she had observed in the previous session. It was a great way for the company members to experience something very different from what they usually do. We would happily (and hope to) work with Rosie again in the future!

Rosie Rainbow is a skilled professional with a personality that everyone loves. She has worked for us as both a performer and a circus skills tutor on many occasions and I thoroughly recommend her.

Rosie Rainbow Circus has given so much strength and confidence. As a young single mum with ADHD, I've seen my confidence blossom learning aerial hoop, silks, pole and sling. I often find it hard to concentrate but Rosie's teaching keeps it fun and engaging.
Growing up in a poor background I was never encouraged into hobbies or sport. I had never found exercise fun and wouldn't want to do it. I now do an hour conditioning and fitness class plus the aerial class and I've seen myself get more confident and stronger over the weeks. I honestly can't believe where I am now after just 4 months of learning!

Rosie has been amazing with my daughter Lily. She started the kids circus class with little confidence and no understanding of circus or aerial. After just 12 weeks of class she is now blooming with excitement about going to circus class and completed her first drop in the sling with the guidance of Rosie reassuring her. She now has a circus birthday booked in June with Rosie and can't wait to show her friends her skills

People I'd like to work with on my DYCP
Charlie Bicknell is an inspirational aerialist with a unique style, who communicates effortlessly with her audience and is always entertaining! Comedic and vocally commanding her shows never cease to amaze and it is so much fun to learn from her. Charlie is the only other person I know who sings whilst she does aerial, and therefore I feel she would be the best person to learn from for this. Her residential weekends are fabulous, and I'd have a great opportunity to network and connect with other artists as well. If the currently advertised February dates (15th & 16th February) are too soon to have heard from the DYCP decision committee, then I would book on to the Autumn residential (dates yet to be confirmed, month of September scheduled into Activity Management Plan).
Charlotte Rose is the most beautiful dancer I have ever seen and I have been privileged enough to work with her on a dance project this Summer. I’d love some time to one on one explore movement patterns and develop the confidence to let go and rediscover that once lost part of myself.
Heg Brignall is a renowned teacher and singer who lives locally to myself. Her online sessions are accessible, and with a background in singing as a child when I studied to Grade 5 I feel there is a lot I could learn at this stage of my life and some more work on technique would be beneficial to the longevity of my voice and would support my singing ability to flourish despite my disability. This would greatly benefit my story telling and performance skills.
Maggi Squire is a talented artist, puppet maker and storyteller who herself has received both South West and European Arts Council Funding previously. Her style is interesting and eye-catching, and her knowledge of puppet construction is excellent. She has trained with Lisa Schneidau and the Westcountry School of Myth. I have enjoyed her work from afar for a long time now, and would relish an opportunity to take instruction from her.
Ethel Darling is a Circomedia graduate and Lecoq trained clown who specialises in street theatre. Her disciplines are varied, from tightrope to singing, to comedy and hand balancing and much more! With her years of experience and plentiful knowledge about storytelling, engaging street theatre and one person shows she will be a fantastic instructor and I feel I could learn so much from her.
Far Flung CIC have the most excellent inclusive practise and I really feel that so many organisations would benefit from learning from them. I would love to expand my knowledge in this area, access resources I am yet unaware of and learn ways to practically implement the things I am taught into my own performance and practise.
Jasmine Cole is a Cornwall based producer, arts fundraiser and writer. She runs Jasmine Cole Productions and Coppice Theatre, as well as specialising in supporting emerging and early career theatre artists and companies.
Lisa Schneidau is an accomplished storyteller with a diverse range of experience. She loves nature and folk lore and often interweaves these subjects into her storytelling practise. She is an experienced teacher with fantastic skills and it would be such a pleasure to work with her, having admired her work from afar for a long time.
